Would you like to get involved?

There are many ways you can help your allotment site. We rely on volunteers to run the shop which is open for a few hours on a Saturday afternoon and again for a few hours on Sunday mornings. With enough volunteers then nobody will have to give up more than a few hours a year to be a great help!

If you fancy being a shopkeeper occasionally then please email

We try to keep our boundary hedges tidy and cut back once a year. Again, one hour of your time during the year is enough to make this a quick and easy job.

We hold a couple of social events on the allotment site each year which among other things requires a bit of muscle to put up and take down marquee’s etc.

If you reckon you can cope with erecting a ‘big top’ then you’re the person we need! Please make yourself known.

The social aspect of helping also allows you to meet your fellow allotment holders which makes for a more enjoyable allotment experience.

There’s more to volunteering than meets the eye, it’s not always a one way ride. As Del Boy says, “You know it makes sense.”
